@chrispickettrealestate: The last Aahs! costume store on Earth is closing forever in Westwood. They'll shut down on November 3rd, 2026, running through one final Halloween. Since 1981, this corner was a landmark for UCLA students, peaking at 7 locations across Southern California before shrinking to this last store. So why are they closing? The owner sold the building in September for $8 million, citing declining foot traffic and limited parking. But this sale connects to a much bigger shift in the area. The buyer is UC Investments, the group managing money for the University of California. Just two months earlier, they bought a separate $49.8 million portfolio of about 14 properties in the Village. They haven't shared what they plan to do with any of it yet, leaving the future of the neighborhood a mystery. Right now, the store is running liquidation discounts of up to 80% off.
