Yaarana (1981) through a brotherhood sacrifice and stage stardom lens highlights director Kumar Gaurav’s father, C. V. Sridhar, crafting a high-octane emotional exploration of unshakeable loyalty. The narrative follows a humble, musically gifted villager who pushes his orphaned childhood best friend into the dazzling world of pop superstardom, only to face a web of ruthless betrayal and kidnapping orchestrated by greedy relatives seeking to steal his fortune. Amitabh Bachchan delivers an electrifying performance as the loving friend-turned-music icon, featuring his legendary motorized jacket dance in "Saara Zamana," while Neetu Singh’s real-life husband Rishi Kapoor's close friend Amjad Khan provides a powerful, multi-layered supporting turn as the supportive truck driver. Rajesh Roshan’s chart-topping, synthesizer-heavy soundtrack remains an absolute landmark of 80s Bollywood music.
