@brucemuzik: Nelson Mandela survived 27 years in prison, and he credited his wife's love for getting him through 👇 Here's what I find people miss about that. We tend to think love like that is a reward; something that happens to the lucky ones, the soulmates, the people who somehow found their perfect match. So when our own relationship starts to feel flat, or tense, or more like a business arrangement than a romance, we quietly conclude we must have got it wrong. But the most extraordinary relationships I've ever seen weren't between perfectly matched people. They were between two ordinary, flawed humans who learned how to make each other feel safe and kept choosing each other, especially when it would have been easier not to. That's the part nobody teaches us. Love isn't something you find and then keep. It's something you build, on purpose, again and again. If your relationship doesn't feel electric right now, it isn't proof you chose wrong. It's proof there's a skill nobody ever handed you. I wrote more about this - about Mandela and what his love life can teach us about our own.
