This scene helped me a lot. Months ago I got out of an emotionally abusive relationship. I didn’t realize that it was abusive, because I thought that all of the relationship problems were my fault. My boyfriend also told me that I was the reason. I was in that relationship for 3 years. When I realized what was happening I couldn’t go back, though it took me a while to completely cut off my boyfriend because I loved him so much. After the relationship I felt so lost, it felt like I had no worth. It felt like the world was his and I just lived in it. I felt like I was nothing. I have kept my distance from God because I hate that I didn’t see the abuse, the things I did, and I’m afraid of digging into my feelings about everything that happened because I know it will hurt so bad. I don’t even like it when people mention my exes name, I automatically say “don’t say his name”, it’s like a him who shall not be named situation it’s that bad. I hate it whenever someone mentions a story involving him. It’s so unbelievably triggering triggering for me and it has been quite a long time since the breakup. I wish I could forget my ex completely, it all hurts so much. Digging into that is terrifying, and I know that if I speak to god or read the bible everything will come to the surface. I’ve made a choice, I don’t want to date again. I have had 5 bad relationships, and before this one I had another emotionally abusive relationship.
