They are known for resting on the ocean floor during the day and are usually not aggressive toward humans. Instead of tearing prey apart, nurse sharks use powerful suction to pull in crustaceans, mollusks, squid, and small fish. Adult nurse sharks commonly reach 7.5 to 10 feet (2.3 to 3 meters) in length. Like other sharks, they continuously grow new teeth throughout their lives.
