@kayceebeeirl: I GOT CANCELED, BETRAYED, AND LOST FRIENDS… BUT I NEVER LOST MY PURPOSE. ❤️ August 2016. My last event. After 10 years of building community, I walked away without saying a damn word. For a decade, I brought celebrities, creators, and communities together once a year. We created a space where people could escape a world that barely acknowledged us. A place where we could laugh, love, celebrate, and simply EXIST without explaining ourselves. I wanted @TYRA B there because her music moved me. She was a beautiful, talented force from my hometown, and I believed in giving people their flowers while they could still smell them. But let me tell you what those beautiful pictures don't show. THE BETRAYAL. THE FAILED PARTNERSHIPS. THE FRIENDSHIPS I LOST. THE TIMES I GOT CANCELED. I've had people I loved turn their backs on me. I've watched partnerships fall apart. I've lost people I thought would be in my life forever. I've been misunderstood, counted out, talked about, and written off. And baby, some of that shit HURT. But you know what kept me grounded? CREATING. AND THE COMMUNITY THAT NEVER STOPPED BELIEVING IN ME. When people walked away, there were still people showing up. Still people supporting. Still people reminding me that what I was building meant something. And every single time I thought I had reached the end of the road, GOD stepped in and made a way. Not always the way I wanted. Not always when I wanted. But somehow, I was NEVER left without a way forward. Here's something life taught me: People won't always like you until they get to know you. But everybody who gets to know you doesn't deserve access to you. Read that shit again. You can love people, support people, open doors for people, and STILL have to close a few doors to protect your peace. That's LIFE. After that final event in 2016, I quietly walked away. No retirement announcement. No dramatic goodbye. I just left. But I never stopped being a creator. Today, I use everything I've survived to teach, encourage, and motivate other content creators who are trying to build something meaningful. Because I KNOW what it's like to pour your heart into something and wonder if it's even worth it anymore. Trust me, when I tell you I KNOW YOUR PAIN, I mean that shit. I know what it's like to give your all, get betrayed, lose people, and question whether any of this is even worth it. I know what it's like to smile in public while fighting battles nobody knows a damn thing about. But baby, YOU GOTTA KEEP GOING! Cry if you need to. Take a break if you have to. Just don't let what people did to you become the reason you give up on what you were meant to do. YOU DIDN'T COME THIS FAR JUST TO LET PAIN WRITE THE END OF YOUR STORY. ❤️ So to every beginner content creator, every small creator struggling with consistency, every entrepreneur building a community, and everybody thinking about giving up because the support isn't there... DON'T LET PEOPLE MAKE YOU QUIT SOMETHING GOD GAVE YOU THE VISION TO START. Your content won't be for everybody. Your personality won't be for everybody. Your journey damn sure won't make sense to everybody. SO WHAT?! Stop measuring your purpose by views, followers, likes, and algorithms. Sometimes your biggest impact is happening in somebody's life, and you don't even know it. I spent 10 years bringing people together. I lost friendships, partnerships, and pieces of myself along the way. But I also found out who genuinely believed in me. And that was worth more than any damn follower count. Ten years after my final event, I'm still here. Still creating. Still learning. Still motivating people to stay in the game. The platform may change. The audience may change. The people around you damn sure may change. BUT YOUR PURPOSE DOESN'T HAVE TO DIE JUST BECAUSE A CHAPTER ENDED. Build something people can FEEL, not just something they can scroll past.
