MEN DEY. BUT ARE YOU THE WOMAN THEY WANT? 👀 The Men Dey pandemic has everyone talking. 😂 We want the man who can provide, spoil us, give us the soft life, and make life easier. And honestly? There’s nothing wrong with desiring beautiful things. But beyond the question of “Where are the good men?” have we paused to ask ourselves, “Am I becoming the kind of woman who can sustain the life I desire?” Can you handle the responsibility that comes with the resources you desire? Can you manage what you’re asking for? Can you be trusted with what someone has spent years building? Because accountability is not stinginess. And while some men use accountability as an excuse for excessive control, not every request for financial responsibility is an attempt to oppress you. You can desire a man with resources and still be a woman of substance, wisdom, and stewardship. The two are not mutually exclusive. According to figures shared by @lexie_armani on Instagram, the ratio of dollar millionaires to women in Nigeria is approximately 1:16,300. The numbers are sobering, but beyond the statistics, there’s a bigger conversation to be had about our expectations, our capacity, and the lives we’re preparing ourselves for. Yes, sis, you deserve a beautiful life. But are you sure you’re desiring the right things for the right reasons? And are you doing the inner work to sustain the life you envision? Men dey.
