@footballnewsandothers1: Ainsley Maitland-Niles refused to take the knee against Chelsea ❌ The 29-year-old Toffees man was the only player to remain standing ahead of today’s lunchtime clash at the Hill Dickinson Stadium. Players have been invited to take the knee before matches for the next two gameweeks in October as part of the Premier League’s ‘No Room For Racism’ campaign. No explanation for Maitland-Niles’ stance has been given, however several stars have previously expressed an issue with the gesture. Former Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha claimed that the action was “degrading” for black players in 2021, as kneeling became commonplace before matches.
Absolutely right. ❤️No one should ever be humiliated or treated as less valuable because of the colour of their skin. Racism has no place in football or anywhere in society. Talent, character, and humanity have no colour. We should celebrate our differences and treat everyone with dignity, respect, and equality. 🌍🤝
