What if you try and fight the shame ? Sometimes someone brings up something from my past and they may find it funny or praise it or denounce it. But the shame takes over uncontrollably and I try and fight it to not wear the shame on my sleeve. It bothers me bc as soon as i can feel the shame setting in i remove myself or change the situation, i’ll deal with the shame alone in the darkness. Idk nothing about it seems honorable. I did bad things , i did things for approval , and i did things out of ignorance. How is it honorable for moving past that and recognizing that’s not the man you’re meant to be and becoming the man you should be. I want to be honorable for more than being shameful of actions I no longer approve of.

I may not have honour, but I have loyalty. And when I’m disloyal, that’s when I feel shame, disloyal to others (my wrongdoings), disloyal to myself (the times I didn’t act).
