@tinytotkenna: My heart is shattered for the families in Oregon. 💔 As a mama raising a little girl with Down syndrome, knowing those children were killed in a special education classroom hits so close to home. I think about Kenna and how she might not understand the danger, know where to hide, or know how to get herself to safety. One of those little boys was only FIVE. The same age as my baby. 😭 Those children and their teacher deserved so much more. Their families deserved to see them come home. Praying to Creator for their families, their classmates, and everyone whose lives have been forever changed. ❤️ Our babies deserve to be safe. ALL of them. 💔

So I seen another TikTok about a special needs teacher, who asked what happens in those situations. Who helps? What could she do to help these kids? Who’s gonna help carry the ones who can run? Who can’t easily hide, who can’t or don’t know how to keep quiet? So sad, prayers for those families 💚💛💚

As a Special Education teacher, I’ve thought of this often since Sandy Hook. My kiddos would not stay quiet or understand the gravity of what is happening. I teach 5 and 5 year olds. I would never leave my students. I would absolutely stay and protect them with my life and if the unthinkable happened we would cross over to the other side together. Your babies wouldn’t be alone. The fact that he targeted these sweet babies makes me so absolutely heartbroken.

we live 2 hrs away from Bend. my 9 yo is in Special Learning class. I just a a meeting that day around 2. my son has autism and keeps running away out to the main road. staff keeps telling me they don't know what to do. I was talking to the Disabilities coordinator about how important it is to keep my son safe. I hang up to find a text from California "are you and the babies safe" I thought "funny I didn't get a Tsunami Alert" never thinking it happened again. first time was my college 10/1/15. I was pregnant n stayed home.
