Billy definitely comes out as a villain here; I never knew how controlling and manipulative he was and is over her, but maybe she’s actually playing all of us during this. You can’t tell in the movie. Also, comments about the power of attorney: the X posts stuff was shocking, but the POA stuff is not unusual. It’s fairly common for defendants who are going into prison to sign POAs for someone to manage their money and assets while they are incarcerated.

But, did you miss mentioning a couple interesting points in the film: when Amanda Seyfried asks Nathan if he had left some things out when he spoke with her about his visit with Elizabeth, asking if he actually cares for her. AND, guess who is in the final beach scene in the water? Nathan and Elizabeth, not Billy and Elizabeth.

Billy is Liz’s minion. Most people thought Liz would react differently when Nathan told her in prison about Billy’s behaviors (tweets and contract details). But she wasn’t surprised. Billy was just being the person Liz knew he would be. It didn’t matter if she didn’t like the tweets, because he (more importantly) was acting like the steadfast person who would continue to enabler her.
