My theory: husker was a gambler in Las Vegas, made a bad deal and owed money to some lord and got killed because of it. he was stuffed into a sword box trick and stabbed to death. but the box wasn't revealed to the crowd so to them he was both dead and alive, a real gamble... a real Schrodinger's Cat.

a sinner's demonic appearance is shaped by how they died, their past life, and their personal insecurities or traits. Husk is a man of many talents. he plays multiple instruments, performs magic(which often involves birds like doves back in the day), has a love of games(he lived in Los Vegas), and is multi-lingual. maybe refered as a "cool cat" and hence why he died that way. like how Pentious being a snake is because he felt slimy(snakes arent slimy) and disgusting(also traitorous) by not stepping up and going to the authorities about the killer in his time period. I dont think what animals. Angel dust being a spider is because he was in a "web of crime" being part of the mafia.
