Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, a Republican, told CNN's Kaitlan Collins this week that Congress needs to haul witnesses in under oath after a Wall Street Journal report alleged Elon Musk ordered a slowdown of Starshield, the military satellite network Ukraine relies on to fight back against Russia. According to that reporting, the slowdown left many Ukrainian drones unable to operate and set off panic in Kyiv - and it reportedly landed just before Russia launched one of the biggest assaults of the war. Fitzpatrick didn't hedge. He said lawmakers should call witnesses, put them under oath, and get to the bottom of what happened. When Collins asked whether that includes Musk, he said yes - everybody. And he warned that if Musk gave the order, he likely broke the law. Here's the distinction that matters: Musk controls Starlink, the commercial service. But Starshield is a military national security tool, and Fitzpatrick argues no private citizen should get to decide how it is used. His warning was blunt - cutting off Starshield

But Starshield is a military national security tool, and Fitzpatrick argues no private citizen should get to decide how it is used. His warning was blunt - cutting off Starshield "costs human lives," and there have to be consequences. He says members of both parties are ready to start digging the moment Congress returns. Think about that. Musk poured hundreds of millions into helping Republicans hold Congress - and now Republicans want him answering questions under oath. Nobody is supposed to be above the law.
