that's my dad. he seemed to only care about providing and doing whatever my popo wanted but he did provide like a mf. we lived in a big house with a pool, I got everything I wanted when I was a kid, emotionally not there, but the provider in him was a big plus!

I initially thought the sample on HelloTalk might be biased, since people who use the app are probably a self-selecting group. But I think what they’re saying makes a lot of sense and genuinely reflects how Chinese women feel. I’ve never looked down on Chinese men. I judge people based on their individual character, not their gender. But the constant hostility and humiliation directed at women by some men seem to be getting worse and worse. I wish both men and women would stop acting like they’re always right and reflect on their own behavior for once.
