I have been a forensic investigator for a local police department. Are you a coroner’s investigator or a law enforcement investigator?

I hate that you have to do this job, but I'm grateful that you do this job. If that makes sense?

the county coroner and medical examiner in my city were so amazing to me when we lost my 4 weeks old niece and her mother 6 years ago. I took my nephew in that day, also 4 weeks old (they were twins). and I remember those 2 ladies treating me with such compassion and kindness on scene and during everything. even though this was another case for them, their job, they never made me feel like it was just their job. and I will always be grateful to them for that. anyway, just wanted to share. please never lose your compassion , empathy or sympathy. to someone else , it may just be another person , but to their loved one , it was their person. ❤️

I really hate it when you spend years going to school to learn a super technical skill only to get a job that depends heavily on answering phones.

Have any cases stuck with you? I think about the people who worked my Grandmas death, she was unalived by someone in her home. I ended up seeing the autopsy and crime scene photos and cannot imagine someone seeing these things on a daily basis 😭

I wanna see more! How did you get into this line of work? Fascinating. Can you give more crime scene work (without being graphic), more procedural?

with that traffic on the other side, I'd want to keep my head on a swivel and spend the least amount of time behind the vehicle... too many first responders get hurt spending too much time digging around in the back of their cars. stay safe 🙏
