@connectwithjacob: On June 14, 2025 Latin singer Nezza was slated to sing the national anthem to kick off a Los Angeles Dodgers game. It was a critical time: families throughout LA were suffering the impact of Trump’s first ICE surge in the city. Despite rehearsing with the official Spanish language version (commissioned by FDR in 1945), she was then asked to sing in English. But Nezza made the decision to go ahead with “El Pendón Estrellado.” Her bold choice is the subject of the new mini-documentary “La Tierra del Valor,” which translates to “The Home of the Brave.” “I wanted people to know I was with them,” says Nezza. “It felt right.” Latin singer Nezza sang “El Pendón Estrellado” - the official Spanish language national anthem - at a 2025 Dodgers game amid ICE crackdowns. A new mini-doc “La Tierra del Valor” (“The Home of the Brave”) tells the story of her act of defiance: “I knew that I had to do something.” #nezza #dodgers
