@meg.beacon: Just me, lying in the dark next to my baby, hoping that this time he’ll finally fall asleep. Trying not to move too much. Trying not to make a noise. Trying not to think about how much I still need to do. And wondering how long I’ll be lying here tonight. 😂 Some nights, bedtime is quick and easy. Other nights, it feels like the entire evening disappears into settling, cuddling, and waiting for those little eyes to finally close. And even though I know I’m not the only mom going through this, it can still feel lonely when you’re lying in the dark and the rest of the world seems to be asleep. That’s why I love seeing those little lights. Somewhere, another mom is lying beside her baby too. Different house. Different time zone. Same hope that her little one will fall asleep soon. And somehow, that makes the waiting feel a little less lonely. To all the moms lying in the dark tonight, I hope your little ones drift off soon.
