Today, I mean on October 8, Vice President JD Vance and the Labor Department suspended Microsoft, Adobe, Cognizant, Infosys, Tata, Wipro, HCL, and Capgemini from PERM - the labor certification everyemployment green card has to clear before USCIS even sees the file. No new filings. Pending cases will not be processed. Indefinite. Vance's claim: Microsoft laid off about 6,000 Americans last year and still took roughly 6,300 H-1Bs and nearly 3,000 green cards. He called it one and a half foreign workers for every American let go. Read this carefully. Your H-1B is not canceled. Extensions and transfers are a separate question.
