I once was on the train with a full cart of men and one other girl. She was at most 2 yrs younger than me. She seemed pretty uncomfortable (it was a bit packed so there were guys standing by where she was sitting) when we immediately made eye contact, she came up to me asking if she could sit next to me and I have never felt so maternal. I started a small chat so she wouldn’t feel as tense. Makes me wonder how many girls didnt get the choice to do that.

I was sexually assaulted on the red line getting on from 7th street station since then I sever get on. It’s not worth it. Luckily I moved to Pasadena and the Pasadena transit here is better and Pasadena is nice enough to walk in peace. But in LA hell no.
