@jamesatkhanfitness: I absolutely LOVE America 🇺🇸❤️ But there’s one thing about it that genuinely terrifies me! 😳 I’ve experienced it firsthand and it’s something I’ll never forget. Americans, how do you deal with this?! 😂 - #America #USA #AmericanWeather #UKvsUSA #ExtremeWeather

Here in Arkansas, more than several brushes with tornadoes. And once just sheer winds coming from the storm clouds above had the force of a tornado, bending steel sign posts like plastic drinking straws, and I sat in my pickup truck while it rocked so fiercely I thought it would flip end over end. It only lasted maybe 10 minutes but did a hell a lot of damage. Just wind alone.

I am a lifelong resident of tornado alley & my best piece of advice for staying safe in the weather is to listen to your gut. If you see an independence day type of green cloud that makes your stomach drop, dont ask questions gtfo of there & ask yourself why later lol. The weather is fast, fear can be a useful tool if we know when to listen to it.

I'm in Southern California so weather is relatively mild year round. Prople in the US are terrified of earthquakes per what I've seen on social media. I don't like the big ones that cause damage. I've been in 3 big ones in the LA area over the last 55 years, 1971, 1987, 1994. In all 3 I lived in only slightly hit places with a total of less than $5.00 damage. I don't understand this general fear when compared to YEARLY weather across the other states, hurricanes, tornadoes, blizzards, floods, very low or very humid weather. It doesn't make sense as earthquakes are not comparable to the constant bad weather. 🥺😳😏

In August Illinois and Northwest Indiana got a storm called a Derecho, hurricane force winds and torrential rain. Widespread power outages lasting more than a week. The wind actually blew train cars off the tracks.

America is huge, and the weather depends on where you live. I live in California and the weather here is so much nicer than the UK.

Not sure where you were but we can help you adjust. We here in Nebraska love to sit on the front porch and watch it blow by. Winters we watch from inside next to the fireplace
