No one has the right to become the villain, Gwen says this in the movie “we have to be greater than what we suffer”. Max was hurt, people treated him poorly and when he revives his powers he decides to hurt those people back, which to him includes everyone because no one noticed him. It’s not fair that Max should be treated this way and then have to be the bigger person, to be greater than what he suffers, but unfortunately it’s a responsibility we all bare. We must be greater than what we suffer not only for ourselves but for those around us. Because max chooses to be worse than what he suffered innocent people got hurt, this is ultimately why Gwen dies. This is the difference between Spider-Man and his villains. Spider-Man chooses to uphold the responsibility to be greater than what he suffers because his powers give him the ability to do it a way no one else can. Remember with great power comes great responsibility. This is the responsibility that comes with his powers, to make sure he uses them to be greater, to help others, and to not use them to hurt and take advantage of people. We must all make this choice. We all must be greater than what we suffer, when we don’t we allow evil and hate to win which breeds and spreads. Evil things happen when people choose to let go of this responsibility which causes other people to do evil things and the cycle continues. We must stop the cycle and make the world a better place. So I beg you please be greater than what you suffer, it’s really hard sometimes, sometimes really evil things happen to us, but maybe it won’t happen to someone else if you choose to be greater.
