Kirkland brands are basically the name brands that have been overproduced at their facilities, what Costco does is simply buys them and repackages them with their own brand, other stores like Walmart also do the same thing.

I worked in a manufacturing world for three different food companies over 40 year period. Just because they’re made by a certain company doesn’t mean it’s a same quality recipes change and so does the quality. I have no idea about the Kirkland stuff it might or might not be the exact same but it very well could be different.

it’s private labeling. Domino sugar does the same thing. It’s not like there are multibillion dollar sugar refineries everywhere. Companies just pay for the label.

I know for a while the Kirkland additive in Costco's gasoline was made by Chevron. It was Techron. I know cause I loaded and delivered it. Costco does shop around a lot so what they jvae today may not be there tomorrow.
