I couldn't tolerate tretinoin. It kept triggering perioral dermatitis. I'm on tazarotene now and the experience has been great so far.

I use tretinoin for acne but recently it’s not helping with break through deep cysts. Would tazarotene be warranted then?

For some reason, my skin tolerates Tazarotene much better than Tretinoin. I used tret for years and I still had barrier issues and irritation. Those are basically gone with tax.
