@hahaharleen: I don’t create fitness content because I’m trying to show off. In fact, for the longest time I hesitated to do so because I thought I didn’t have that great of a body. I’ve always had people make unsolicited comments about the way I look. However, my relationship with the gym has always been about how it makes me feel, not what I look like. I hope to be able to share that relationship I have with the gym with others. I understand people will scrutinize you when you share yourself publicly. However, I think too many people become comfortable behind their screens making crude comments. I’m not opposed to constructive feedback, but simply being rude or cussing someone out for working out is absurd in my opinion. I also think judgment is really common in the brown community. Instead of learning from one another, the instinct can be to tear each other down. It’s especially disappointing when I have women body-shaming me. I’m only here to encourage people to go to the gym and to be more carefree and authentic. Anyways, I really do appreciate the positive comments and the people who choose to engage with my actual content rather than body-shaming me or swearing at me. #judgement #gym #Fitness
