2026 NC STATE FAIR FOOD REVIEWS! 🤤 We noticed a pattern with this year’s new foods: Biscoff/cookie butter, hot honey, and Nashville hot EVERYTHING! And we were HERE for it! Here’s what we tried, what we loved, and what didn’t quite live up to the hype! Cookie Butter Coffee Float — 10/10 Cookie butter-infused iced coffee served in a Biscoff-crusted cup, topped with creamy vanilla soft serve and a full-size Biscoff cookie. SO good! Such a treat and the perfect way to start our fair food adventure! Scotch Egg — 9/10 A hard-boiled egg wrapped in seasoned sausage and cooked to perfection. Delicious! Our only complaint? For the price, we needed MORE! Hot Honey & Pimento Cheese Fried Pickles — 5/10 Fried pickle chips topped with warm, locally made pimento cheese, bacon, and a sweet and spicy hot honey drizzle. These had SO much potential! They weren’t bad, but the pickles were chewy instead of crispy, and there wasn’t nearly enough pimento cheese. We wanted to love these! Hungarian Fried Bread — 10/10 Fresh dough fried until golden and crispy outside, soft and chewy inside, then topped with garlic butter, cheese, and sour cream. Salty. Hot. Crispy. Chewy. GARLIC BUTTER. Absolutely no notes! Nashville Hot Peach Sundae — 6/10 Nashville hot chicken, homemade mac and cheese, warm spiced peaches, cornbread crumble, and hot honey, all served sundae-style. We had HIGH hopes for this $20 creation! The chicken was fresh, spicy, and clearly not from a frozen bag, and the mac and cheese was homemade. BUT… we never found the peaches, and I only detected hot honey in ONE bite! For $20 and that description, we expected so much more. Biscoff ‘Nana Puddin’ — 10/10 Creamy banana pudding soft serve layered with rich Biscoff cookie butter and crunchy Biscoff crumbles, topped with fresh banana. PERFECTION. No complaints. Just give me another one! Our biggest hits: Hungarian Fried Bread, Cookie Butter Coffee Float, and Biscoff ‘Nana Puddin’! Which one would YOU try first, and which one is a HARD PASS? Tell us in the comments! Follow along for more NC State Fair food and fun! We’re taking the kids back next week, so there’s plenty more to come! #NCStateFair #NCStateFair2026 #FairFood #FoodReview #Foodie
