the announcers mentioned that the safeties started playing deeper when carr came in. so the run game picked up. I still think Beck is a terrible oc

What alot of people keep missing, and even the CBS post-game announcer said, was that Penn State dropped it's safeties to respect the pass game from Carr. It opened up the entire run game. Teams have been stacking the box against Michigan to stop the run and stop the east to west from Bryce because he's NOT a pocket passer. Carr is. You change the concept, it changes the defensive look, all the sudden to have complimentary football. It's not rocket science. No defenses respected Bryce's downfield ability.

The OC needs to stop handcuffing the QB. Maybe that will change but even with Carr the OC was terrible.

Hill cannot cover anyone. Beck has issues calling a game. Carr did freshman mistakes but he did not stare down receivers, did not over throw passes, and made decent reads. Bryce needs to be added in at some position other than QB for his athletic ability alone.

To be fair, the half time changes seemed like night and day. Not only did Carr preform better under pressure and make better strategic decisions, but the play calling changed dramatically. The offense scheme in the second half was almost exclusively downhill. I saw more inside zone runs on that second half then I’ve seen all season in rhino formation. If the offense does this (the second half changes) the rest of the year, we may have a good rest of the season

Bryce is also really bad at not knowing when to pull the balm down and use his athletism, too many times this year and last he would force throws when there is 20 yards of green in front of him
