@drdenizpsyd: We can learn to silence ourselves in the language of healing. Especially if we grew up keeping the peace, anticipating someone else’s moods, or being told our reactions were the problem. “Stay regulated” can become a new instruction for an old role: contain what you feel so everyone else can remain comfortable. Breathwork, meditation, and grounding can offer real support. The question is what we use that support to make possible. Can we stay connected to ourselves through a difficult conversation? Recognize when an old fear is being activated? Or notice that something happening now needs to stop? Both our history and our present circumstances deserve attention. Sometimes an alarm continues after danger has passed. Sometimes we are being asked to quiet it while the danger continues. This matters beyond individual relationships. When exhaustion is treated only as a stress-management problem, an impossible workload goes unquestioned. When anger about injustice is treated as a failure to protect our peace, the burden shifts from changing what harms people to changing how people feel about it. For women, that demand often meets a lifetime of being rewarded for agreeableness and penalized for anger. In my work, healing is the restoration of relationship with the body and everything we experience through it. That relationship needs room for grief, protest, desire, joy, and the energy to act. It cannot be measured only by how little we disturb the world around us. We are responsible for how we act on our feelings. We are also allowed to ask others to take responsibility for how they treat us. Where have you been asked to work on your reaction while what you were reacting to stayed the same? #nervoussystemregulation #truthteller #divinefeminineenergy #scapegoat #reclaimyourpower
