A love letter to Roma ❤️ For the past six weeks, I made Roma my home. The Eternal City—where history, elegance, and tradition meet chaos and beauty on every corner. This was my time to reconnect with food and with myself. To dive deeper into my roots and experience what it really means to live like an Italian—even just for a little while. Each day brought something new: morning walks to the mercato, long passeggiate, and meals that stretched late into the night—carciofi alla romana, a perfect plate of amatriciana, and a slice of torta di visciole to finish. I tasted the seasons, embraced the pace, and soaked in the small moments that make life here so special. What always amazes me about Roma is how you can casually walk past ruins older than entire countries, eat lunch outside a neighborhood trattoria, enjoy an aperitivo as the sky turns golden, and still feel part of something alive and modern. The city evolves, sometimes for better, sometimes not—but its soul stays the same. Of course, food was the heart of it all. Growing up Italian-American, I understood the power of simple ingredients. But here, I lived it. I tasted the tomatoes, the zucchini, the strawberries, the puntarelle—only here for a short window each year and gone before you know it. You learn to savor things while they last. Roma opened my eyes, my appetite, and my heart. It was beautiful.
Do you see it? 😬
