@__missy2: Replying to @DC Sinooto “Free benefits” is a pretty bold statement to make to a household in the top 2% of Canadian taxpayers. 😂 Not paying at the time of service doesn’t mean we’re not paying for it. And to everyone saying “just leave” - we’d love to. But unlike what you seem to believe, immigrating to another country isn’t as simple as packing your bags and crossing the border. There are legal requirements, applications, and waiting periods. I may disagree with Canada’s approach to immigration, but that doesn’t mean other countries are obligated to let us move there overnight. We’re following the legal process. Immigration takes time. 🤷🏼♀️ #CanadianHealthcare #CanadianTaxes #CanadaTikTok #Taxpayer #CanadianPolitics
It would cost you that or more just to give have baby in the states! Also your post secondary eduction would not be subsidized, neither would your child care, dental, any social programs.

We don’t have an open door policy to immigration and universal healthcare is the best thing I would never wanna have to use an insurance company and pay premiums and deductibles and have to worry about being able to afford to go to the doctor or the hospital

ALL Canadians pay dearly for medical… we are taxed to death and that goes towards our so called ‘free’ healthcare! I wish people would stop saying we have free healthcare. It’s not.

You won’t pay differently for a family of four or family of six. It’s based on your income solely.

So I am just below the top 2% with a family income of 156k and I am okay for paying for my neighbors healthcare or unfortunate kids treatments. It seems to me that its just the right thing to do. I don't understand why people wouldnt wanna save lives. Sure it isnt perfect and yes it could be better... but I know at least 4 people who would have lost everything they worked for their whole lives because of health issues.

You wouldn’t being paying that much in taxes in Canadian healthcare that article was grossly misleading. You will pay way more in an American healthcare system

if you want Canadian Healthcare to improve, figure out and vocally call out what the problem is. because the issue is not our universal Healthcare. its the politicians actively sabotaging it because they're paid off by insurance companies that want us under the US style system. its greed, nothing more

The U.S. system is twice as large of a tax burden and then you pay on top of that. The U.S. system costs taxes & premiums & deductibles & co-pays & clinic fees and then they might bill you for the entire thing anyways because it was out of network or the insurance company decided it didn’t want to cover it.

$21k for a family of 6 is peanuts. in fact you might be wrong.... in the US decent insurance for a family of 6 is about $26kUS... on top of your taxes... + copay, out of pocket or out of network... 4 kids in the US?... yikes

The total comprehensive cost of healthcare for an average American family of four is $37,824 USD per year in usa. And you get the added benefit of being denied services if a pencil pusher at an insurance company feels like screwing you.

Where do you get 21k. The health tax is based only on personal income, it is capped at 900/yr for anyone making 206k and over. Even if all 6 ppl worked at 206k plus, that would only be 3400 per yr.
