Should do more banned books you’d recommend. Not like those grotesque books, but maybe informative

Huh? BNW was something we had to read in highschool (2010 grad). I remember how fucked up that book was and wondered why in the hell we were reading it

If It Isn’t Boiled :
I’ve had a copy of this book since I was 25 . I’ll be 33 Monday . By far one of my favorite books . To me it’s a better depiction of what our future can look like than George Orwells 1984.

You need to read tender is the flesh if 1984 is your scariest dystopian pick 😱

Hmm, mix this one with 1984, 2029+ 1 other and you’ll have a more accurate picture of where we are today… or at least where we’re heading.

Violet :
Most of the books that they have banned 1. they embraced others cultures and people who are different from you . 2. They talk about rebelling against a governmen rebelling against terrible leadership. And 3. Dystopian societies that we happen to be living in in some way, shape or form 4. Anything that talks about the harm, the US has done to somebody else.

For me personally, the scariest and most accurate prediction of the future comes from Octavia Butler‘s novel Parable of the Sower. The parallels to today’s society is absolutely terrifying, and I will always recommend that novel to anybody who asks!

so I know that reading is an important skill but as we evolve should our means of information? like were there some cave men that were like, nobody reads scrolls any more since those damned books came out! and that's why the dead sea scrolls are gibberish. either way I love absorbing perspectives and stories but I'm trying to be more efficient with my time ya know?
