@the_health_stack: USC researchers developed a system to grow granulocyte-monocyte progenitors extensively and genetically modify them to recognize cancer markers. The study was reported October 16 and published in Cell. In mouse experiments, the engineered cells established themselves in bone marrow, produced new immune cells, and slowed blood cancers and solid tumors. The results are preclinical; they do not establish a treatment for people. #CancerResearch #Immunotherapy #CellTherapy #MedicalResearch
