@japdmedia26: Washington, DC, USA: Federal agents searched the Washington, DC, home of U.S. Representative Ilhan Omar on Monday, according to reports published by the New York Post. The investigation reportedly began after authorities obtained text messages from the phone of Omar’s sister, Sahra Noor. Three people familiar with the matter told The New York Times that investigators were examining possible immigration fraud linked to the family’s arrival in the United States in 1995. During the reported search, agents seized Omar’s phone, passport, notebooks and personal computers. NewsNation also reported that investigators collected discarded items from her trash to obtain DNA evidence. Former FBI special agent Tracy Walder told NewsNation: “To me, if they are obviously trying to obtain DNA, then, yes, that is a very easy get, especially if it was discarded even in a trash can,” The evidence is reportedly expected to be presented to a federal grand jury in Minnesota. Investigators have also reportedly issued subpoenas to several members of Omar’s family. Omar’s office rejected the allegations of political targeting. Her spokesperson, Jackie Rogers, told The New York Times: “Trump has spread lie after lie about the congresswoman in a desperate attempt to justify his extraordinary abuse of power,” The spokesperson also stated: “This is politically motivated and an escalation of Trump’s personal vendetta against her lasting over a decade.” #IlhanOmar #SahraNoor #WashingtonDC #Minnesota #japd
