Zanzibar Part 12 🇹🇿🌴 – Prison Island & Giant Tortoises 🐢 If you’re planning a trip to Zanzibar, this is one activity you NEED to add to your itinerary! 🥹🤎 We booked a private tour to Prison Island (also known as Changuu Island) and honestly, I’m so glad we did! From the beautiful architecture and crystal-clear turquoise water to meeting the GIANT tortoises, it was such a lovely afternoon! Here’s everything you need to know 👇🏽 📍 Location: Prison Island, a short boat ride from Stone Town, Zanzibar. ⏰ Duration: Approximately 3 hours. 🚗 Transfers: Hotel pick-up and drop-off included. 🚤 Tour: Private boat transfer and a friendly guide who explained the fascinating history of the island. 🐢 Giant tortoises: Originally from the Seychelles! You can see them up close and even feed them. Bring some cash for tips! 🤿 Snorkelling: We finished our tour with a private snorkelling experience near the island, and the water was absolutely beautiful! 🍽️ Food tip: We had lunch on the island, but personally, I found it quite expensive for what it was. I’d recommend looking for a tour that includes a BBQ lunch instead! 🛍️ Extras: You can also pick up souvenirs while you’re there. 📲 Tour booked with: @ZANZIWAVE TOURS Honestly, seeing those giant tortoises in person was something else!
