That is a real concern in any home, but especially where babies and toddlers crawl and play on the floor and then put their hands in their mouths, and for anyone with allergies or a weakened immune system. The fix could not be easier or cheaper: take your shoes off at the door. Keep a shoe rack or a basket there, and maybe a pair of comfy house slippers nearby.
