@audreyscornerugc: Five years ago, I shaved my head. I was burnt out and fed up with constant damage from harsh treatments and bleaching. While I loved experimenting with fun, bright colors back then, my impatience definitely cost me my hair health. Fast forward to today, and I realize how unkind that impatience was to myself. Even though I kept telling myself “it’s just hair, it’ll grow back,” I missed my long locks the entire time it was short. I’m so glad I started fresh, though. Having healthy, virgin hair for the first time as an adult feels incredible. Learning to care for it, watching it shine, and embracing my natural texture has been such a rewarding journey, and letting go of it completely changed my appreciation for it. Ultimately, I’ve learned to love my hair at any length, but I definitely feel the most in my element when it's long.
