@oniichanhq: We just lost another legend 😔 Actress Georgina Cates has passed away at 51, leaving behind a body of work that stretched well beyond any single show or genre. Georgina Cates built a career by refusing to stay in one lane, moving from British television to independent film, comedy, drama and darker character work with a fearlessness that made every role feel different. Over the years, Cates worked with performers including Hugh Grant, Alan Rickman and Joaquin Phoenix, while taking on roles that ranged from romantic and comedic to raw, eccentric and deeply dramatic. Some of her most memorable performances included: - Stella — An Awfully Big Adventure - Amanda — Clay Pigeons - Jenny Porter — 2point4 Children - Young Emma — Frankie Starlight - Simone — Illuminata - Marianne Bell — A Soldier’s Sweetheart - Emily — Stiff Upper Lips - Lil — Sinner - Kimmie — Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa - Elaine Insane — Everlasting What made Cates stand out was her willingness to reinvent herself and take risks. She even changed her professional name and appearance early in her career to land a role she believed in, a bold move that helped open the door to a much wider acting journey. Some careers are remembered for one defining character. Georgina Cates leaves behind something broader: a collection of performances that showed just how many different people one actress could become. Rest in peace, Georgina Cates. 🤍 #georginacates #frankiestarlight #illuminata
