@thatguy__401: Providence, R.I. - October 17, 2026 Providence Police and the Providence Fire Department responded to the area of Providence Place Mall on Saturday evening following reports of an overturned pickup truck with an occupant trapped inside. Video footage submitted to my tip box by a supporter who was inside the mall shows several Good Samaritans climbing onto the overturned vehicle and checking on the driver before emergency personnel arrived. Mobile Integrated Health 1 (MH1), which responded to the scene, reported one elderly male who was conscious and alert but trapped inside the pickup truck. Providence firefighters had to cut through the roof of the vehicle to safely extricate the driver. The man was subsequently transported to a hospital for treatment of his injuries. The crash occurred along Providence Place, near a curve in the roadway. Based on observations at the scene, the pickup truck appeared to have struck a yellow concrete post positioned along the curve before overturning. However, the circumstances leading to the crash have not been confirmed. Colletta's Towing responded to remove the overturned pickup truck from the roadway. Providence Police officers and the tow truck driver were observed collecting numerous personal belongings scattered across the roadway that appeared to have come from the vehicle during the crash. Providence Police traffic division was on scene investigating the cause of the accident. #RhodeIsland #providence #police #firefighter #BreakingNews #fyp
