@maizeandbluemedia: It’s time to start the Carr. It was a tale of two halves for Michigan football when it faced Penn State. The Wolverines punted or turned it over on all of their first half possessions, averaging 4.3 yards per play and scoring no points. In the second half, a change at quarterback saw that jump to 6.8 yards per play and three touchdowns. There’s more. The Wolverines were able to win the time of possession battle in the second half, an area they’ve struggled greatly in due to the offense failing to string together sustained drives. Michigan went from 11:07 TOP to 16:51 TOP. Michigan had multiple explosive runs today with Carr under center, including a few of his own. The idea that Bryce Underwood brings a better edge for the run game might not even be true, especially if the box is loaded. The drop off — if there even is one — with Carr is negligible and the upside of his arm is worth the gamble. After the game head coach Kyle Whittingham said he wasn’t comfortable making a decision on who’s QB1 moving forward. We’re chalking that up to coach speak — there’s no way Carr isn’t the starter after today… Right? #goblue #michiganfootball
