Don’t feel bad. I definitely am not in the position you are, but I have a neurological condition called Charcot Marie Tooth. It’s wrecked my body. I’ve underwent several surgeries for it too. Right now I have stage 4 endometroid cancer and chemo is kicking my butt. There’s an entire community on social media here for you. You’ll definitely find a light in such a dark spot with feeling like going into a nursing home is such a negative spot. If it’s one thing I’ve learned this year alone you’ve got to find the small wins. Pain sucks so very much and dictates your life. I’m also no contact with my parents and it’s truly not an easy thing. You’ve got this friend. Stay strong.

I got sick when I was 30. Woke up in the ICU one day with 40 staples down my stomach and missing organs. I don’t even remember going to the hospital or my stomach hurting at home. I was just waiting for my son to get out of school then woke up there a week later and didn’t go home for 2 months. Now I’ve had over 20 surgeries so far. Yesterday was actually the day I got sick. I had nothing wrong before

There is nothing wrong with sharing your story. You are an inspiration because I promise you, someone is going to hear your story, and know they are not alone. You are making a difference. I work at an assisted living facility in Georgia with young and older residents. Try to find a community that is active with in house activities. You can still thrive. You are worth it, and seen. Keep fighting!
