fr the haze itself is tough on me and my health right now, i just cannot imagine the struggle the indonesians are experiencing, and the countries that's close to the haze. ig it's really pure "luxury" to those who can "escape" the haze, but it doesn't cost anything to be self-aware and be kind to those who cannot afford to "escape" the haze and are literally fighting for their lives to even breathe and go on their day-day.

The fact that some can’t distinguish the sensitivity shows how much empathy and EQ are lacking today. Not everyone has the privilege of flying elsewhere for cleaner air while others, including vulnerable children, are suffering. Privilege isn’t the problem, it’s the lack of sensitivity towards those without that privilege. It’s honestly dystopian that basic humanity needs explaining. Thank you, Fauzi, for speaking up!

i am indonesian living in sg. anytime i feel like complaining about the haze here to my friends back home i felt shame and i ended up just keep quiet. they did ask but i’d say it’s still ok, manageable. one of them shared their elderly parents are going in and out clinic cos they got breathing difficulties but no one could even give solutions.. 🥺

I’m Indonesian currently in Australia so I’m not affected by the haze, but everytime I see the posts about the fires, I feel like crying, I know how hard it is for them, I know how frustrated they are with the current situation, but most of all, how the government doesn’t gaf with what’s happening, it’s a whole thing 😭

i agree man. and also lowkey the trend where people put clear skies before the haze ifl is so out of touch with reality. like there are people suffering so much more from the haze and saying you miss the clear skies just shows how protected we are man ngl.. like theres better things to do like playing a part in putting international pressure on the indo govt for solving this issue.
