I’d argue philosophy is best learnt in school. In fact, many subjects, including history, sociology, poltics, etc., are best learnt from others in an environment with others. This means discussion happens and your world view, which is important to these topics and you cannot get if your teach yourself (as what youre exposed to is limited to what you can find and are interested in). Having a professor, who is educated in the matter, is active in the professional discussions, and also knows how to lead and where to point, will guide you on where to improve and where to look for your interests as well as appropriately guiding topics and flow for you to better understand. Of course this isn’t accessible to everyone but I’d highly recommend participating in active discussions in person and online around these topics if you’re teaching yourself :)

Me because I cant take art history ever since I have no room on my schedule for it and our school is a bum and doesnt offer AP World or AP art history so its only a half-year class

My favorite thing to do on my downtime is to copy maps. I’m also a history major so maybe that’s why but even as a kid I was obsessed with maps! Haha
