Once you learn that endometriosis is an immune dysfunction and inflammation problem, it’s tempting to go after it with all things “anti-inflammatory.” An anti-inflammatory diet or supplement stack can be super helpful, but they don’t address what’s triggering inflammation in the first place, so they’re only one piece of the puzzle. Here are 3 things I always focus on with endo clients: 1️⃣ STABILIZE BLOOD SUGAR A lot of the fatigue, energy crashes, brain fog, mood changes, and inflammation that get blamed on endo are actually a blood sugar problem. Every time your blood sugar spikes too high or too low, you’re adding to your inflammatory load. → Always pair carbs with protein and fiber, stop skipping meals, and take short walks after you eat. 2️⃣ SUPPORT YOUR LIVER Your liver filters out endocrine-disrupting chemicals (think plastics, personal care products, cleaning supplies, etc.), many of which are xeno-estrogens that help feed endo growth. When your liver is burdened or under-supported, those pile up and lead to more inflammation. → Swap out your everyday products for low-tox options, drink filtered water, and eat protein, cruciferous veggies, and bitter foods to help your liver do its job. 3️⃣ SUPPORT YOUR PELVIC FLOOR Years of sitting down all the time (and especially once you’re dealing with endo pain!) leads to poor posture, altered breathing mechanics, and restricted blood flow to your pelvic region. This keeps your nervous system activated and contributes to inflammation and tension that makes pain worse. → Try pelvic floor physical therapy (DM me if you want a good at-home program rec), practice diaphragmatic breathing, and get up to stretch/move throughout the day. Surgery, pain medications, and anti-inflammatory agents are helpful, but there’s SO MUCH MORE we can do to help relieve endo symptoms and help stop progression of this disease. I break all of this down (and more!) on my blog. Comment ENDO and I’ll send you the link.
