I would just double check your cars user manual as per whether you can install a child restraint in the middle seat depending if each seat has an individual anchor point or your car uses a loop system this could be the difference between your car seat being installed properly or not 🥰

my son hated the car seat too but i had to sit in the front it was my only option and turned his seat around to face us and he was instantly better i did that 7months and now he’s nearly 2 and i swea by turning them around
