@valleymoms: Beauty is HERE! The real connection is downtown Tucson’s historic district and architecture—not that the Children’s Museum was part of the Scottish Rite. The Children’s Museum occupies Tucson’s historic Carnegie Library, completed in 1901, while the nearby Tucson Scottish Rite Cathedral was dedicated in 1916. Both are part of the remarkable collection of historic buildings in this area of Tucson. Tucson, Arizona has some incredible history hiding right in the heart of downtown. ❤️🌵 One of my favorite discoveries was realizing how much history surrounds the Children’s Museum Tucson and the Tucson Scottish Rite. The Children’s Museum is actually inside Tucson’s beautiful historic Carnegie Library building, completed in 1901. Today, instead of shelves of library books, this historic building is filled with hands-on learning, creativity and activities for children. 📚➡️🧒 Just nearby is the absolutely gorgeous Tucson Scottish Rite Cathedral, dedicated in 1916. Walking through the Scottish Rite was one of the most impressive parts of our Tucson visit. The architecture, rooms and historic details are beautiful, and the building can even be rented for weddings, receptions and special events. These are separate places with their own histories, but together they show something I really love about Downtown Tucson — historic buildings aren’t simply being forgotten. They’re still being used, enjoyed and shared with new generations. If you’re exploring Tucson, Arizona, especially with children, take some time to explore this historic downtown area. You can experience Children’s Museum Tucson, beautiful historic architecture and the Tucson Scottish Rite all in the same part of the city. #tucsonarizona #arizonatravel#childrensmuseum #scottishrite##33rddegree
