@palidev21: 5 GitHub projects worth saving 💻 GitHub has tools you can actually use even when you are not writing code. These five cover your phone, PDFs, remote access, image upscaling and a faster Windows workflow. 1️⃣ scrcpy — mirror and control an Android phone from a Windows, macOS or Linux computer over USB or a supported network connection. It can record the session and forward supported audio. Normal use needs USB debugging; audio forwarding requires Android 11+. The Genymobile/scrcpy repository is the official download source. 2️⃣ Stirling PDF — merge, split, convert, compress and OCR PDFs through a desktop app or a self-hosted deployment. Keeping an instance on your own machine can keep that workflow local. It is open-core: free capabilities and paid offerings are separate, so check the feature and deployment requirements. 3️⃣ RustDesk — remote access for your own devices or a device whose owner has authorized the session. It supports remote desktop, file transfer and clipboard features on supported systems. You can self-host the server; advanced Pro server features are separate. Cross-platform capabilities differ. 4️⃣ Upscayl — a free desktop AI image upscaler for Windows, macOS and Linux. It processes on your hardware and supports batch upscaling and different models. A Vulkan-compatible GPU is required. Upscaling can add artifacts or invented detail; it cannot reliably recover information missing from the original image. Test a copy first. 5️⃣ Flow Launcher — a Windows search box for apps, files, calculations, web searches and community plugins. Try one workflow, such as finding a file without navigating folders, before adding extra plugins. Supports Windows 10 and newer.
