@interstellarspac: ☀️ Our Sun is so enormous that you could line up approximately 109 Earths side by side across its diameter. What looks like a small, bright disk in our sky is actually a star nearly a million miles wide. 🌍 The Sun has a diameter of approximately 865,000 miles, while Earth’s diameter is about 7,917 miles. That makes the Sun roughly 109 times wider than Earth. 🚀 Even at the speed of light, crossing the Sun’s diameter would take about 4.6 seconds. For comparison, sunlight takes approximately 8 minutes and 20 seconds to travel the roughly 93 million miles from the Sun to Earth. 🌌 Despite its enormous size, the Sun is not an unusually large star. Many stars in the universe are far smaller, while others—including red supergiants—can grow hundreds of times wider than our Sun.
