My family is some original settlers from this county and every one of them will swear to you they've seen panthers, mountain lions, bears, Bigfoot, ghosts, ghost robbers, and my grandma (RIP) swears a space ship landed in her back pasture. When I was little, a man we called the (sackman) walked up and down our road. We were told he gathered up kids and put in that burlap sack. When I was grown, I learned who he had been when I read his obituary - he used to write letters to the editor of the Beaumont Enterprise, Silsbee Bee and Tyler County Booster. I couldn't believe it when I read some of his letters! He was very well educated and enlightened on local issues. Too bad I was only taught to be fearful of him, I would have liked to have known him. He probably picked up cans and bottles in that sack for spare cash. The only thing you need to worry about in Hardin County is the permanent residents. I'm very lucky I was able to get out right before high school - I've always said it saved my life.

I’ve seen a couple on trial cameras through out the years but rarely one in liberty county and one in Harden County but never during the day.

I have seen 3 in my life time here in south central texas. Very close to Cat Spring. Yall just dont spend much time outdoors if you have not seen them.

I live in South Grayson near the Collin county line and we have had them my whole life. In my area past McKinney north city people have flooded in and see a bobcat and say they saw a mtn lion.
