I don’t follow Jeni, but I follow you bc you are my niche. I work in marketing in a different field (not beauty unfortunately) and I aggressively hunt niche creators with a loyal following bc my marketing dollars go the farthest with them. In my experience, your point is correct.

Brit, people have lost the plot of what influence really means. Look at Marlena from Makeup Geek and how small creators helped build brands. Even MAC recognized the value of makeup artists. If a micro creator brings just five new customers to your brand that's a success! Influence isn't about millions of followers. It's about reaching the right people. Everyone started somewhere!

Most of the people I follow are smaller influencers and I promise their PR recs have made a dent in my bank account 🤷🏻‍♀️. I probably trust bigger influencers less bc their jobs is to say they like everything. Smaller creators I feel are more honest bc they have less to lose if that makes sense
