**Sons of Anarchy** is an American crime drama television series created by Kurt Sutter that aired on FX from 2008 to 2014, running for 7 seasons. **The Show** It follows the lives of a fictional outlaw motorcycle club called SAMCRO (Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club, Redwood Original) based in the fictional town of Charming, California. The story centers on **Jax Teller** (played by Charlie Hunnam), the club's vice president and later president, as he struggles with his identity and the club's increasingly violent criminal activities. **Main Cast** - **Charlie Hunnam** as Jax Teller - **Katey Sagal** as Gemma Teller (Jax's mother) - **Ron Perlman** as Clay Morrow (club president) - **Maggie Siff** as Tara Knowles (Jax's love interest) **Themes** The show explores loyalty, family, power, crime, and moral conflict. It draws heavy inspiration from Shakespeare's *Hamlet*, with Jax serving as a Hamlet-like figure questioning his father's legacy. **Criminal Activities** SAMCRO is deeply involved in gun running, drug trafficking, and other illegal enterprises, which drives much of the conflict throughout the series. **Reception** It was a massive hit, becoming one of FX's highest-rated shows ever. Katey Sagal won a Golden Globe for her role in 2011. **Legacy** It spawned a spin-off series called **Mayans M.C.**, which follows a rival motorcycle club and premiered in 2018.
