Never buy hotels, that way all the houses can be used up quickly which stops your opponent from putting on houses/hotels.

Buy "Prison Alley" aka Pink and Orange. Everyone that goes to jail, whether by dice roll or card, goes straight to jail. When they get out? Boom - they'll likely hit your properties first!

My strategy is to buy everything I can and add houses to them until there are no houses left but never upgrade to hotels. Eventually no one can do anything and the game is gridlocked then I just wait everyone out until they eventually quit

My first strategy is always to buy Baltic and Mediterranean ASAP. Everyone laughs at me because I am working hard to buy the cheapest lots, but it only costs $500 to put a hotel on both properties, and helps quite a bit.
